Mr. Jerry Lee Alverson, 89, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Mr. Alverson attended Hardin’s Chapel Bible Church. He was an avid War Eagle fan and also loved to listen to old-time Gospel music. He was a loving husband, Dad, Dad-in-law, Grandpa, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Verdell Alverson; brother, Johnnie Alverson; half-brother, Junior Alverson; sisters, Jennie Arnold and Jeanette Attaway; and stepsister, Jeweldine Brown. He is survived by his wife, Mary Castleberry Alverson; daughters, Cathy Ogle (Frankie) and June Thomason (Tim); grandchildren, Jessica Dorough (Jonathan), Courtney Walker (Andy), and Evan Thomason (Kayla); great-grandchildren, Maycie McKee, Cora Belle Dorough, Jackson Dorough, Ava Thomason, and Ana Thomason; half-sister, Josephine Morris; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Hardin’s Chapel Bible Church. A funeral service will be held at Hardin’s Chapel Bible Church at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024, with Bro. Craig Little officiating. Interment will be at Hardin’s Chapel Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Lakeside Hospice, caregivers David, Kayla, Marie, Darlene, Jann, Tim Ford, and to Hardin’s Chapel Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hardin’s Chapel Bible Church. Condolences may be offered online at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
