Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Hutto Limbaugh, 80, of Talladega, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born September 4, 1943 and was a lifelong resident of Talladega. Mrs.Limbaugh is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Amy Lee Hutto; brothers, Colvin Eugene Hutto, Joe Frank Hutto, and sisters, Betty Paul Mitchell and Frances Barber. She is survived by her husband, Alden Limbaugh, who lovingly cared for her during her illness. His daily care ensured she was able to stay in their home, which was built by her father, until the last three weeks of her life. She is also survived by her only child and the joy of her life, Mike Limbaugh (Robin) and her two grandchildren, Michael Alden Limbaugh Jr. (Maggie) and Sarah Alice Limbaugh, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Bobbie was a member of Bethel Christian Center, formerly Bethel United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Talladega Junior Welfare League. You can find several of her wonderful recipes in the cookbooks Come and Get It and When Dinner Bells Ring. Bobbie worked in the banking industry and then took time off to raise Mike. She returned to work at The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB), where she served as an administrative assistant for many years. She developed a special relationship with many students at AIDB and stayed in touch with them throughout the years. After retiring from AIDB, Mrs. Limbaugh worked as the office manager for Steed Timber Company where she was known for “keeping everyone straight!” Bobbie was an avid golfer and played many rounds at Timber Ridge Golf Club and Alpine Bay Golf Club whenever she got the chance. She also loved spending time at her beach condo with friends and family. Above all, her favorite times were with her grandchildren, Michael and Sarah Alice. She was known to jump on the trampoline, ride in the go cart, and play a mean game of Nerf Blaster whenever they came to visit. Mrs. Limbaugh’s family will receive friends on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Bethel Christian Center.
