Lawrence “Paw” Hardwick Thomas, of Talladega, AL, went home to Jesus on Thursday, February 01, 2024 at the age of 75 years old. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 04, 2024 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with David Gaither officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Lawrence married the love of his life, Judy Thomas, on June 25, 1971. He loved to love people. He was a devout Christian with a servant’s heart. His blue eyes twinkled when he was surrounded by his family and with every University of Alabama win. He retired as a manager from CVS in 2016.

His life was like a living Bible verse “And be kind and compassionate to one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Ephesians 4:32

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rachel and Jimmy Thomas; brothers, Billy Thomas, Ronnie Thomas, and Jeff Thomas, and sisters, Mary Cheatwood and Pat Osborn, and sister-in-law Helen Thomas

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Thomas; son, Javan Thomas (Christyn); daughter, Shady Herrington (Rock); grandchildren, Shanna Kamppinen, Nathan Herrington, Reilly Thomas, Campbell Thomas, Kennedy Thomas, and Savannah Griffin; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Kamppinen and Natalie Kamppinen; brothers, Les Thomas (Sherry) and Jimmy W. Thomas; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Thomas and Sarah Smith, and a host of nieces and nephews.
