Paul Selby, 84, of Talladega, AL passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. A graveside ceremony will be held in his honor at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Russ Vickers officiating. Mr. Selby was a native of Pell City, AL, but he lived most of his life in Fort Worth, TX. He moved back to Talladega County in 1997. Mr. Selby served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Bayfield APA33. He retired from General Motors after 33 ½ years of service. He was a member of Talladega Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for 20 years. Mr. Selby also loved motorcycles and enjoyed riding them very much. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Kathleen Selby, and son, Michael Paul Selby. Mr. Selby is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kay Selby; daughters, Deandra Cresswell and Terri Renee Selby; grandchildren, Talena Selby, Shaelyn Selby, Mikale Selby, and Robert Cresswell, and great-grandchildren, Lilly Cresswell, Mansen Cresswell, and Korah Nalls. Robert Cresswell, Tim McKay, Gene DeVandry, Sam Nabors, Sonny Bonds, and Daniel Jones will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Selby’s family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.act.alz.org . Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing the services.
