Obituary of Kathleen Cotton Studdard

Kathleen Cotton Studdard, 82, of Talladega went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with David Williams officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow directly after the service at Pine Hill Memorial Mausoleum. Kathleen was born in Lincoln, Alabama to Paul and Ina Cotton on September 18, 1941. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School where she met the love of her life, Tommy Studdard, and was happily married for 57 years. She was a member of Blue Eye Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful Granny and was always there to help take care of her grandchildren – and made sure they grew up loving Elvis and Alabama football. Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Donna Ballow (Joe Jr.); son-in-law, Don Roberts; five grandchildren, Tess Hilburn (Otis), Tiffany Birley (Jimmie), Mallori Lanier (Cole), Nicolas Hudgins (Glory), and Colby Ballow; a great-grandson on the way; two sisters, Sylvia Galiano and Anita Cotton; brother-in-law, Ray Studdard (Nettie) and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved pets, Buddie and Macy. She is preceded in death by husband, William Thomas Studdard; daughter, Dixie Studdard Roberts; parents, Paul and Ina Cotton, and sister, Shirley Wyatt. Pallbearers will be Nicolas Hudgins, Joe Ballow Jr., Don Roberts, Cole Lanier, Jimmie Birley and Keith Galiano. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
