Obituary of Joe "Bigen" Fuller
Please share a memory of Joe to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. Joe “Bigen” Fuller, 77, of Lincoln, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Joe was many things to many people…son, brother, husband, father, paw paw, and friend. He went from a small 1A Appalachian High School in Alabama to play major league baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals and then played semi-pro basketball before going on to have a 47-year career at BF Goodrich, later known as TCI, in Birmingham, Alabama. If you asked him his greatest accomplishment, he would simply say his family. He was married for 51 years to his wife, Jackie Fuller, or “Mama” as he called her. If he were to be described as one thing, it would be a gentle giant with a legacy rooted in loyalty and perseverance. He was a man of great integrity and dependability…you knew if he told you he was going to do something it got done. A man of simple pleasures, he enjoyed fishing, going to Trade Day in Collinsville on Saturday morning, and his favorite meal number 4 from Jacks with an apple pie. His memory will live on through the impact he left on the ones he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Hugh Fuller and Evelyn Fuller, and by his sister, Doris Freeman.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Fuller; daughter, Misty Fuller Ralyea (Cory Wayne); son, Robert Allen Fuller (Carol); eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Bellew, Donna Martin, Eunice Thompson (Lester), and Rhonda Ashley (Greg); and several nieces and nephews.
