Obituary of Loyd Thomas McGowan

Mr. Loyd Thomas McGowan, 30, of Ohatchee, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Loyd was a die-hard Auburn fan. More than his love for the Auburn Tigers was his love for his children and he was at his happiest when he was either talking about or spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dean McGowan Sr.; brother, Jamie Lee McGowan; grandmothers, Edna Duck and Ellie Phillips; grandfathers, Jimmy Smith, Alvin Haywood Jr., and Thomas McGowan; great-grandparents, Rufus and Edna Causey, Jane Boatwright, and Mable Phillips; and uncle, Jason Haywood. He is survived by his mother, Cynthia McGowan (John Turner); children, Adriana McGowan, Jacobi McGowan, and Kingsley McGowan; mother of his children, Corrina Morris; brothers, Jimmy McGowan Jr. (Tonya) and Butch McGowan; sisters, Rebecca McGowan (Richie) and Kimberly Green (Joey); and mawmaw, Dilys Smith. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023. The funeral service will be held at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, with interment following at St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
