Obituary of Nona "Cookie" Autrey Cosper
Please share a memory of Nona to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nona Ann Autrey Cosper, affectionately known as Cookie, was welcomed home into heaven on December 8, 2023, by so many of her family who had gone before her.
She was a graduate of Wellborn High School. Cookie was sweet, opinionated, tough as nails, and generous but fiercely protective of family and friends, Cookie had a voracious love of reading and family. She was our family historian and keeper of our stories. She was an excellent storyteller and will be greatly missed!
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Lee Self, and husband, Billy Milner "Pick" Cosper, Sr.; son, James Pickens "Jake" Cosper; parents, James Coleman "Jake" Autrey and Polly Rogers Autrey; brother, Larry Dean Amerson; and sister, Lena Elaine Autrey Smith (William D. "Junior").
She is survived by her brothers, James C. (Carol) Autrey, Jr. and Danny Joe (Norma) Autrey; special sisters, Debbie (Findley) Wicker, Susan (Greg) Smith, and Lisa Amerson; four miracle babies, Avery Hall, Davis Smith, Garrett Smith, and Jaxon Autrey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and greats.
The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home - Pell City from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
