Obituary of Jeanette Vasser Turner

Funeral service for Jeanette Vasser Turner, 79, of Talladega, will be 1:30pm, Sunday, Dec. 28 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel of Talladega. Rev. Harris Hand will officiate and burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Turner passed away December 25, 2014 at Citizens BMC. Mrs. Turner was a native of Blount County and grew up in Cullman County. She lived in Talladega since 1952 and was a member of Craig Memorial United Methodist Church. She retired from Pine Hill Memorial Park where she served as manager for 20 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billie Turner, brother, Raymond Vasser and sister, Bobbie Blackmon. She is survived by her children, Judy Turner Smith (Anthony) and Billy R. “Chip” Turner, Jr. (Donna), grandchildren, Amber Crowe (Anthony), Billie Turner, Christy Lindsey, Monica Gilmer, and Will Gilmer (Hannah), 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Mellicha Hornsby, and special caregiver Terri Stone. Pallbearers will be Clarence Haynes, Kenneth Allen, Will Gilmer, Bobby Turner, Anthony Crowe, and John Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Studdard, Bill Perry, Travis Ford, Charles Bonner, Billie Turner, Steve Kirk, and the staff of Usrey Funeral Home.
