Obituary of Sandra Giardina Hunt

Sandra Giardina Hunt, of Birmingham, age 76, peacefully entered eternal rest on December 3, 2023. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be fondly remembered for her generous spirit, loving well, appreciation for nature, and kindness to others. Despite living with Alzheimer’s, we never lost the essence of our beloved Mom and Gigi. Sandra loved her family and friends and leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service to them. Sandra loved to spend time gardening and her life at Logan Martin Lake. Perhaps most of all, she loved and delighted in her role as "Gigi”. The pride and love she had for her grandchildren were only matched by the time and energy she enjoyed investing in them. Most importantly, Sandra loved and trusted the Lord. We rejoice that her faith has been made sight and that she is now with God in heaven. Even in our grief, we have great hope knowing that those who trust in Jesus for salvation will one day join her there. She is survived by her Daughter, Kimberly (Robbey) Stanford; Son, James (Holly) Patrick; 4 Grandchildren, Fletcher Stanford, Sadie Stanford, Caleb Brasher, and Ashley Brasher; Sisters, Cindy (Perry) Evans and Jennifer (Andy) Davis. Sandra was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Hunt in 2012 and James Patrick in 1995; her parents, Helen and Felix Giardina; and her brothers, Mike Giardina and Philip Giardina. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Highlands Grants Mill Chapel. A Memorial Service will begin at noon and a reception will follow. A graveside service will be held at St. Clair Memorial Gardens in Pell City. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Sandra’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
