Mr. Ted Seay, 83, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
After graduating from Enterprise High School in 1958, he received a degree in education from The University of Alabama. After graduation, he served in the United States Army in Germany from 1962-1966. Ted married his wife of fifty-eight years, Janice Lindsey, on March 22, 1963. Ted retired from the Alabama National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel after thirty-two years of service. In 2009, Ted retired as an administrator from the Henry County School System and moved to Pell City. From 2010 until 2017, he served as Coordinator of the St. Clair County Adult Literacy Council. He also was a member of New Life Methodist Church, Pell City Kiwanis, Pell City Senior Center, and was an avid tennis player for six decades. During their marriage, he and Janice traveled to over thirty countries.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Seay.
He is survived by his sons, Phil Seay (Michele), John Seay (Susan), Glen Seay (Kelly), and Todd Seay (Ashley); and grandchildren, Austin Seay, Thomas Seay, Luke Seay, Margaret Seay, Lawson Seay, Bella Seay, Lilly Kate Seay, and Emma Seay.
The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023.
The funeral service will be held at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, with Pastor Wes Savage officiating. Interment will follow at St. Clair Memorial Gardens with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the St. Clair County Literacy Council, Logan Martin Tennis Association, Pell City Senior Center, or Lakeside Hospice.
