Obituary of Donald Eugene Lackey

Donald Eugene Lackey, 88 of Munford passed away October 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday October 31, 2023, at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega, burial will follow at Ironaton Church of Christ cemetery. His family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega Monday October 30, 2023 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Mr. Lackey enjoyed time spent outside, dirt track racing, and working on lawnmowers. He also loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Brown Lackey, parents Paul and Rosa Lee Lackey, two brothers Ray and Thomas Lackey . He is survived by his children Darlene “Sissy” Johnson, Trish Gaither (Ralph), Rodney “Bubba” Lackey (Tammy), Wyatt Harmon (Greta), grandchildren Cody Johnson (Gwen), Lacey Casey (Michael), Kenny and Cindy Gaither, Summer Lloyd (Jacob), Autumn Munn and Scott Haynes, ten great-grandchildren, sisters Lendsey Mayo, Frances Mayo, Ruby Green, brothers Burl and Bill Lackey. Pallbearers will be Ted Lackey, Ricky Thrower, Eric Holiday, Michael Casey, Gary Johnson, Tim Rozell, Bob Throwers, Timothy Throwers, Wyatt Harmon, Andrew Cline. Mr. Lackeys family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice and Allison, Misty and Latonya for the care and compassion given to him and the family. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the services.
