Obituary of JoAnn Grace Caniglia Reilly

Mrs. JoAnn Grace Caniglia Reilly, 84, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023. JoAnn earned her Bachelor’s degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and her Master’s degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She taught for 35 years in kindergarten, special education, and ended her career in high school special education at John Carroll Catholic High School. JoAnn made it to 23 countries and all 50 states! She immensely enjoyed traveling and visiting family. She was a devout Catholic with a love for the Holy Rosary. She was a member of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Kevin Denis Reilly, and by her parents, Louis Charles Caniglia and Pearl Agnes Carlson Caniglia. She is survived by her son, Martin Louis Reilly (Cathy); daughters, Eileen Reilly Livengood (Michael) and Shannon Denise Ray (John); grandchildren, Sara Reilly Borden (Chris), Adam Louis Reilly, Thomas Ray, Phillip Ray, and Teresa Ray; step-grandchildren, Michele Cranford (Wayne and 3 children) and Spencer Livengood (Chantel); and siblings, Joyce Bazis, Patricia Campbell, Mikki Cvejdlik, and Louie Caniglia. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023, at The Cathedral of St. Paul, 2120 3rd Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama 35203.
