Obituary of Jimmy Ray Strickland

Jimmy Ray Strickland, 73, of Moody, Alabama passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Mr. Strickland worked for thirty-seven years in Anniston as a metering superintendent for Alabama Power. During his leisure time, he loved to travel, golf, hunt, and spend time outdoors, and he was a huge University of Alabama fan. Most importantly, he was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Winnie Strickland; daughter, Shannon Strickland; and brother, Alfred Strickland. He is survived his his wife, Anita Strickland; children, Morganne Adams (Nicholas), Becky Oldham (Morgan), and Shelby Fomby (Brayden); and grandchildren, Sophie Adams, Brantley Fomby, Brynli Fomby, and Paisleigh Fomby. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home - Pell City from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. The funeral service will be officiated by Bro. DJ Wyatt at Usrey Funeral Home - Pell City at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, followed by interment at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Morgan Oldham, Brayden Fomby, Nicholas Adams, Rylan Fomby, Scott Wyatt, and Colton Robertson will serve as pallbearers. Condolences may be offered online at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
