Jackie Sue Marler Edmonson, 80, of Talladega, AL passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. A graveside ceremony will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Bob Owens officiating.
Mrs. Edmonson was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. She graduated from Gadsden State Community College with an associate’s degree in early childhood development. Mrs. Edmonson retired from the Talladega Police Department as a communication specialist after 18 years of service. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of Police.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Ruff; father, John Walter Marler, and brothers, Jimmy Marler, Robert Marler, Bobby Marler, Joe Tom Marler, and John Marler.
Mrs. Edmonson is survived by her sons, Skip (Shannon) Hallmark and Tim (Donna) Hallmark; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and beloved and dear friend, Chock Johnson.
Her grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Edmonson’s family asks that donations be made in her memory to F.O.P Racing City Lodge #26, P.O. Box 6005, Talladega, AL 35161.
