Obituary of Richard Scott Mitchell

Richard Scott Mitchell, 47, of Talladega, AL passed away at his home on Thursday, September 07, 2023. A graveside ceremony will be held in his honor at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 09, 2023 at Midway Memory Gardens. His family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega from 11:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. prior to the service. Scott was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. He had such a great love for dogs and chickens that his nicknames included: “Chicken”, “Chicken Boy”, and “Chick”. Mr. Mitchell also enjoyed cooking and grilling out. He always knew every recipe. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, H.M. Mitchell, Otis and Ruby Holmes, and Paris Osbourn. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Crystal Mitchell; parents, Rick and Janet Mitchell; brother, Jason Mitchell; sister-in-law, Christine Mitchell; nephew, Brayden Mitchell; grandmother, Mary Jo Mitchell, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
