Obituary of William Washington Lybrand
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. William “Willie” Washington Lybrand, 56, of Cropwell, Alabama passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023.
Willie possessed an abundant knowledge of all things car-related and seemed to know almost everything about cars that there was to know. In fact, he loved all things car-related whether it was drag racing or talking shop with the guys, or serving as a mentor to many young men as an instructor. His extensive knowledge led to his accreditation as an ASE Certified Master Technician as well as being a General Motors “World Class Technician.” He worked for the past 32 years in the automotive field and was the current Program Coordinator for the Lawson State GM Automotive Service Excellence Program (ASEP), of which he was a proud 1993 graduate with an Associate in Science degree.
Above all, Willie was well-thought-of and highly regarded, a good friend to many and a great husband for over 29 years to his wife, Stacy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stoy Lybrand; and brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Elaine Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy Snider Lybrand; mother, Hazel Lybrand; brothers, Benny Jones (Karen) and Nick Lybrand (Darlene); sister, Debbie Martin (Rusty); a host of nieces and nephews; and two beloved cats, Zoe and Mr. Puss.
