Obituary of Arthur Charles Jenkins

Arthur C. “Shorty” Jenkins, age 84, passed away on August 22, 2023 at Willowbrook Residence, Effingham, Illinois, where he has been living near his son and other family. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with David Gaither officiating. His family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the services at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Arthur lived nearly all his life in Alabama and was well known in his community as owner-manager of Upchurch Garage in Talladega for many years. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and Alabama football games.
Arthur is survived by his son, Leslie C. Jenkins (Cindy Flynn Jenkins); his grandsons, Robert, Matthew, and Christopher Jenkins and their wives, and his great-granddaughter, Haylee Jenkins.
Arthur is preceded in death by his wife, Deleanor Jenkins, and son, Tony Jenkins.
