Obituary of Donna Irwin Barton

Donna Irwin Barton, 70, of Talladega passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, in Pell City. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Billy Epperson officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the service at Oak Hill Cemetery. She was born Sept. 22, 1955, to Bernard and Glennie Irwin. The family lived at 503 N. Court St. in Talladega next door to Donna’s late maternal grandmother, Ada Williamson. After graduating from high school and an area technical school, Donna first worked for a couple of downtown businesses before getting a job at the Anniston Army Depot where she worked for 34 years. She retired a little early to spend more time with her family and friends. Most recently, Donna resided first at Magnolia Place in Lincoln and then Diversicare in Pell City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Glennie Irwin; her brother, Bernard Jr., and her husband, Earl Barton. Her survivors include a sister, Susie Irwin Forrester of Pensacola, FL; a brother, Robert Irwin of Talladega; five nieces and nephews, River Triffo of Saskatchewan, Canada, Jill Irwin of Niceville, FL, Lee Wadsworth of Talladega, Rob Irwin of Weaver, and Lindsey Irwin of Talladega; 13 great nieces and nephews, and 5 great- great nieces and nephews. Rob Irwin, Marty Wadsworth, Sean Wadsworth, Steve Parker and Donnie Harrison will serve as pallbears. Honorary pallbearers are the ladies and men at Magnolia Place in Lincoln and Diversicare in Pell City.
