Obituary of Robert Allen Davidson, Jr.

Robert Allen Davidson, age 70, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at his home. Bob was born in Alabama in 1953 to Robert and Norma Davidson. Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margarita Gomez Davidson; his children, Jeffrey, Kimberly (Shawn), and John (Courtney); his grandchildren, Ashley, Joseph, John, Olivia, Carina, Rowan, and Pierson; his sister, Maureen Davis; his brother-in-law, Jerry Davis; his brother, Brant Davidson; his sister-in-law, Kathryn Davidson; and a host of extended family members. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Norma Davidson. Bob served three tours in Vietnam as part of the U.S. Navy from 1972-1978. He was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. Throughout his adult life, Bob answered the Christian call to fatherhood. He provided for his family through his carpentry skills. He was brought into the Catholic Church a few months before his death. He held a special devotion to St. Michael the Archangel. Later in life, he found a dear friend in his dog, Harley Davidson. He eagerly embraced every opportunity to share a joke, chocolate milkshakes and fries, Hallmark Christmas movies, and Auburn football. A rosary service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, followed by the funeral mass with Father Bill Lucas officiating. The committal service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Alabama National Cemetery. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Enhabit Hospice for their compassionate care.
