Obituary of Robert Walter Skidmore

Mr. Robert “Bob” Walter Skidmore, 95, of Lincoln, Alabama passed away in the early hours of Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Colonel Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City, Alabama. Bob lived many years with his lovely wife, Mary Jane, and together, they raised their family in Kettering, Ohio while he worked at McCall/Dayton Press in Dayton, Ohio. He was active for many years with the Lincoln High School Boosters, was a parishioner of Lincoln United Methodist Church, and was a lifelong member of the Freemason Organization. He served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Mary Jane Harper Skidmore; parents, Jessee and Sallie Skidmore; two brothers; and seven sisters. He is survived by his children, Robert Morris Skidmore (Linda) of Eastaboga, Alabama, Beverly Ann McCue of Cumming, Georgia, and Karen Lynn Skidmore-Schultz (Terry) of Peachtree Corners, Georgia; grandchildren, Amanda Walker (Barry), Olivia Skye Vise (Jarred), and Mary Sophia Johnson (Kevin); and great-grandchildren, Hanna Walker, Beck Walker, Gavin Jaxon Harper, and Emerson Harper. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Lincoln Cemetery. Condolences may be offered online at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
