Obituary of Gerald Louis Ramey

Gerald Louis Ramey, 75, of Foley, AL was born on September 09, 1947 in Anniston, AL to Helen J. Ford. He entered his eternal home on Sunday, May 28, 2023. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 01, 2023 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Brian Gilpin officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the services at Munford Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Ramey was a native of Munford, AL but was a current resident of Foley, AL. He played the trombone in the Walter Wellborn High School Band, and he continued his love of music for many years afterward by singing and playing trombone at church. He and his wife, Hazel, also enjoyed exploring with their R.V. in tow. Mr. Ramey obtained his Electrical and Industrial Electronics Certification from Ayers State Community College. He was also retired from M&H Valve and Sears. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen J. Ford. Mr. Ramey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hazel A. Ramey; son, Scott (Christy) Ramey; daughter, Cassandra (Scott) Shelton; grandchildren, Trenton (Abby) Ramey, Marissa Ramey, Blake Shelton, Chloe Shelton, and Bry Shelton, and soon to be born great-granddaughter, Baby Girl Ramey. Trenton Ramey, Scott Shelton, Blake Shelton, Michael Gilmore, George Hicks, and Ronnie Gilmore will serve as pallbearers. Jack Ethridge and Bry Shelton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
