Dee Johnston McElroy, 55 of Talladega passed away May 26, 2023. A Memorial service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega. Cal McIntire will officiate the service.
Dee was born in Salem Oregon, at a young age her family moved to Homewood, Alabama, where she graduated from Homewood High School class of 1986, Dee earned her bachelor's and master's degree from Montevallo and Jacksonville State University’s. She was a long-time employee of AIDB. Dee had a love and passion for animals.
She is survived by her husband Randall McElroy, daughter Sandi Johnston, best friend Charlene Crump and her cat’s and grand cats. She is preceded in death by her mother Sandra Yelverton Jones, her mentor and friend Sue Muller, and her dog Chunk.
Her family requests any donation in lieu of flowers be made to your local humane society. Usrey Funeral Home Talladega will direct.
