Obituary of Patty K. Wingo

Patty K. Wingo, 86 of Oxford passed away on April 22, 2023, in Heflin,
Alabama. A graveside service for Mrs. Wingo will be held at 11:00 a.m.
on April 25 ,2023 at Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega with Dr. Jerry Cobb
officiating. Her family will receive friends at Pine Hill Memorial Park starting at
10:30 a.m. and continuing until 11:00 a.m. at gravesite.
Mrs. Wingo was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Oxford
where she assisted in the children’s department. She was preceded in
death by her husband, William C. Wingo: her parents, Sam Smith, Sr.
and Mazie Smith; brothers, Sam Smith, Jr. and Sidney Smith.
Mrs. Wingo is survived by her daughters, Debbie Upchurch (Steve),
Gina Freeman (Doug); Grandchildren, Bekah Morrison (Stuart), Will
Freeman (Haley); Great grandchildren, Auren and Houston Morrison,
Axton and Hendrix Freeman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers, Will Freeman, Stuart Morrison, Tony Spurlin, Doug
Freeman, Jordan McGuffey, and Chandler Tyree.
The family wishes to thank Cleburne County Nursing Home staff and
Gentiva Hospice for their tender, loving care. Usrey Funeral Home Talladega will direct
the services.
