Obituary of Joanne Green Parker Bishop

Joanne Green Parker Bishop, 92 of Talladega Passed away April 14, 2023 at her home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday April 19, 2023 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega, with burial at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastors Donny Thompson and Bill Pruitt will officiate the services. Mrs. Bishops daughter will receive friends Tuesday April 18 from 5:30 – 8:00pm at Usrey Funeral Home. Mrs. Bishop was born in Clay Kentucky and moved to the Dry Valley community in Lincoln as a small baby where she was raised. She attended Lincoln High School where she was a cheerleader. She was a member of Dry Valley Baptist Church. Joanne was active in Idalia School where she served as President of the PTA. She retired from Palm Beach after 15 years where she served as President of the Union. Joanne enjoyed watching Alabama football and going to games watching her daughter march as a Crimsonette. She is survived by her daughter Dianne Parker Battles (Gary), brother-in-laws Scotty Bishop (Derenda), Earl Smith, nephews Scotty Poss (Vicki), Mike Green, niece Lisa Green. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents Dwight Green and Fannie Maude Green Finley, husbands Chester Parker and Clarence Bishop, sister Geraldine Poss Smith, brother John R. Green.
