Obituary of Lanis G. White

Mr. Lanis G. White, 64, of Ragland, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Lanis was a retired Methodist pastor. He instilled a strong faith and belief in the Lord Jesus in his children. He served for eight years as the Mayor of Ragland and also served eight years on the Ragland City Council. However, his most cherished role was being a grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rip and Bobbie Nell White, and by his sister, Janice White. He is survived by his wife, Caroline White; daughters, Mandy Lipscomb (Casey) and Emily White; and grandchildren, Callie Lipscomb, Caroline Lipscomb, John Wesley Lipscomb, Will Lipscomb, and Charlee White. A funeral service honoring his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2023, with Rev. Tommy Ledbetter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Serving as pallbearers are John Mark Ford, Josh Ford, Kurt Lipscomb, Michael Gore, Bubba Brown, Ethan Brown, Stedman Poe, Matt Hannah, Ed Colley and Steve Ford.
