I remember the day you gave your heart to Jesus! What a glorious time! I remember you going through the new member class (MIC)! Then you were baptized that night. I had the privilege of being in the baptism room with you. I was at the top of the stairs holding your towel so it would be ready for you to dry off when you came out. I remember saying DJ grab a hold to the stair rail so you don’t slip. I remember seeing the old DJ go under the water and the new DJ come up and what a glow you had about you. I feel so blessed to be a part of that time in your life. I will see you again one day. Until then I know you are worshiping our Lord and Savior! See you later!

Dj was so full of life and fun, he lived life in the fast lane, but also in the slow lane at the same time. He was the kind of guy that no matter the need or time, if you needed him there, he was showing up. You could count on him. He had a funny way of showing his love, but he did all the little things that count to most. He loved his precious girls and I will never forget him, his memories or the way he was so passionate and loving towards children. I’m going to leave a song here, for anyone in the future to listen, to remind you of Dj because he used to keep it on repeat.—Larry Fleet-Where I find God. May we cherish and honor your memory forever!!! And to his family and children, may god wrap you in his precious, loving arms to comfort and guide you for the days to come!

Dear Kristi, I didn't get to sign the book yesterday, but it was absolutely the loveliest service I could imagine. The song selections were simply perfect, and Bro Jacky did a brilliant job delivering the message. It was great to meet some of your family that I hadn't met yet. I pray many times each day for the Lord to surround you with peace, comfort, love, and yes, even joy. I look forward to seeing DJ again someday, healed of all the struggles he faced in this life. Praise Jesus for His grace and liberty! I love you so much, Christy Dunaway

DJ, I love you so very much!!!! No one knows how much I miss you… have missed you! I’m so glad our last visit and conversation was so good. Seeing you that day with all of your babies will always be a cherished moment for me! We will forever keep your memory alive for your children! I’m sure they will laugh and cry with all of the silly things you’ve done! Your clothes will become our comfort pillows to always have a piece of you with us!!!!!!! Rest easy, your battle is over and I know beyond a shadow of doubt that you are in the arms of our Heavenly Father!!! You will live on in your children always! I know Heaven gained an amazing guy! You’ll never know pain of any kind again! Be joyous watching us all and ask Jesus to ease our pain of missing you !

Q: What will you never forget about Irvin? A: I will Never forget all the times Dj was such a good friend to my brother and I. We were always laughing. Dj was always there if you needed him, and you can’t say that about many people. I’m blessed to have been able to know Dj. I love how he couldn’t ever keep his tongue in his mouth when he would talk or laugh. Always touching his teeth. It’s the little things I’ll miss the most. He was so silly, Lol. I’ll miss them trips to Krispy crème, go carts, even just hanging out at roberts or your moms. I hope you’re enjoying the view ❤️ Rest In Heaven
