Obituary of Eva R. Butler

Eva R. Butler, 93, of Talladega, AL passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023. A graveside ceremony will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Forestlawn Gardens with Vern Jordin officiating. Her family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Mrs. Butler was a native of Travelers Rest, SC. She was also a resident of Golden Springs, AL for more than 25 years before moving to Talladega with her daughter in 1999. She was a graduate of Travelers Rest High School. Mrs. Butler was baptized on February 25, 1962 at Bayou Baptist Church and was a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church. She volunteered for many years as a Pink Lady at Regional Medical Center, and she was a long time member of the Anniston Bowling Association. She was a loving mother and granny. Everyone affectionately called her “Granny B”. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Butler; parents, Robert Sr. and Mollie Rice; grandson, Tommy Bowerman, and 8 brothers. Mrs. Butler is survived by her daughters, Diane (Vern) Jordin and Susan (Tom) Bowerman; sister, Lu Ashworth; grandchildren, Jonathan (Angie) Jordin, Jennifer (Jonathan) DuShane, Tiffany (Darrell) Garrett; great-grandchildren, Haley Jordin, Jessica Jordin, Lee DuShane, Natalie Garrett, Colton Garrett, and Callie Garrett, and a host of nieces and nephews. Jonathan Jordin, Darrell Garrett, Allan Watson, Tony Edwards, Steve Barr, and John Sprayberry Jr. will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
