I knew the Wirt's as good neighbors in Summerville, SC around 1973. I was only 19 years old. I moved in when my then husband Robert Allen was out to sea. Doris came over with cookies when I was out painting faded shutters. She taught me how to ease a seam. I remember visits with Alicia. I felt safer knowing Bill and Doris were close by.
