Mary Matson, 71, of Talladega passed away on Thursday, March 09, 2023. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the funeral ceremony at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Matson was a native of Georgia, but lived most of her life in Talladega, AL. She was a member of Harvest Life Church. She was also an employee of Alabama Industries for the Blind for 18 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Pritchett Jr. and Dorothy Pritchett, and 8 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Matson is survived by her husband, Howard Matson; daughters Kandi (Chris) Macy, Faye Butler, and Aimee (Jonathan) Smith; sons, Lee (Paula) Harvell Jr., Seann (Bridget) Matson, and Gabriel (Elaine) Matson; brother, Terry Lee (Linda) Pritchett, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many loving pets. Pallbearers will be Jon Smith, Austin Shiflett, Dee Hindman, Timothy George, and Chris Macy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the animal shelter of your choice.
