Memorial service for William “Slickhead” Mitchell, 77, of Talladega will be Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Wilby Wallace will officiate and his family will receive friends from 12:30 till service time at the funeral home. Mr. Mitchell passed away November 22, 2014 at his home. William was a native of Calhoun County and long- time resident of Talladega County. He loved to fish and hunt and loved his hunting dogs. Owner/operator of Mitchell Masonry. He is preceded in death by parents, James and Mattie Mitchell, sisters, Louise Mitchell, Lois Summers, brothers, Carl Mitchell, Billy Mitchell, and Buster Mitchell. His survivors include wife of 27 years, Barbara Holmes Mitchell, daughters, Debbie Jordan (JJ), Denise Carr, Cristal Adams (Jeff), Tanya Lewis (Jimmie), sons, James Mitchell, William Smith (Patricia), Wayne Gardner (Michelle) and Shaun Jillson (Sandy), 20 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, sisters, Sarah Langley, Anita Crim, Jimmie Thomas and Erlene Bowman, and numerous nieces and nephews, special sister-in-law, Dale Crosby, sister-in-law, Frances Esquibel (John), special nephew, Jabo Bowman, special friends, Hop Beavers, Dale Reaves, Jimmy Wyatt, and Gary Kelly.
