Obituary of William Payne Gossett

Mr. William “Bill” Payne Gossett, 79, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fate Lee and Georgia Gossett; brothers, Fate Lee Gossett, Jr., Gerald Gossett, and Leland Gossett. He is survived by his wife, Betty Gossett; children, Tony Gossett (Cathy), Jeff Gossett, Lisa Gossett (Lea) and Sharron Howard (Scott); grandchildren, Kelsey Maddox (Chad), Kaitlyn White (Zack), Blake Gossett (Tiffany), Bailey Howard, Mitchell Gossett, Allder Howard and Brody Gossett; great-grandchildren, Henley White, Oliver White and Stevie Maddox; brothers, Julian Gossett (Debbie) and Greg Gossett (Judy Simmons). The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City. The funeral service will be officiated by Dr. John Thweatt at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Burial will follow the funeral service at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
