Obituary of Joyce Jane Rice

Joyce Jane Rice, 73, of Lincoln, AL passed away at her home on Saturday, January 07, 2023. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Darrell Hammonds officiating. Interment will follow directly after the service at Hall’s Cemetery in Lincoln. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Mrs. Rice retired from Wal-Mart in Pell City, and she was a member of Refuge Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Effie Mae Mills, father, Thomas Warren, and four brothers. Mrs. Rice is survived by her husband, James Rice; daughter, Briggett (Steve) Wideman; sons, Duane Nixon and Shawn Nixon; grandchildren, Marrissa (Gene) Greenwood, Morgan Wideman, Warren Nixon, and Violet Nixon; great-grandchildren, Axl Greenwood and Bayleigh Greenwood, and niece, Connie Herring. John Adams, Clint Morrow, Gene Greenwood, Jerry Fincher, Marcus Rowell, and Kerry Bradford will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
