Dorothy “Dot” Blackburn, 93, of Talladega passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022. A graveside service will be held in her honor at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 02, 2023 at Cemetery Mountain Cemetery with Shane Clark officiating. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega from 11:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. prior to the service. Mrs. Blackburn was a native a lifelong resident of the Ironaton area. She was Baptist by faith. She retired from Brecon Knitting Mills, and Mrs. Blackburn loved her family very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Blackburn; parents, Annie and Wiley Jones; brothers, Curt and Wayne Jones, and sisters, Ruth Newsome and Polly Yarborough. Mrs. Blackburn is survived by her sons, Rodney (Martha) Blackburn, Stanley (Lisa) Blackburn, Butch (Renae) Blackburn, and Jeff (Debbie) Blackburn, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and sister, Bette (Richard) Laden. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is assisting the family.
