Elayne Hurst Patterson “Mammy”, 79, of Alpine, AL passed away at her home on Monday, December 26, 2022. A graveside service will be held in her honor at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Beaver Tinsley officiating. Mrs. Patterson was a native of Talladega and lived most of her life in Alpine. She was a member of Cropwell Baptist Church where she worked in the children’s program. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.B. and Ruth Hurst, brother, Clifford Wayne Hurst, and grandmother, Mary Lee Humphrey. Mrs. Patterson is survived by her husband, Judson Patterson; sons, Steve (Becky) Patterson and Daniel (Jennifer) Patterson; sister, Janice Barnwell; grandchildren, Bryce Patterson, Taylor (Dakota) Beane, Emily Patterson, Tilman Patterson, and Macon Patterson; nieces and nephews, Jaylon Ellison, Jonathon Ellison, Russell Barnwell, Rodney Hurst, Hunter Hurst, Aidan Cadeiux, Randy Cadeiux, Noah Cadeiux, Pam Cadeiux, and Hannah Cadeiux, former sister-in-law and life-long friend, Carolyn Gaylor, and former daughter-in-law, Joey Logan. Jaylon Ellison, Jonathon Ellison, Russell Barnwell, Bryce Patterson, Tilman Patterson, and Macon Patterson will serve as pallbearers. The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made to The Gideons International at www.gideons.org. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is assisting the family.
