Obituary of Helen Lynne Hanner

Ms. Helen “Lynne” Hanner, 65, of Talladega passed away at her home on Monday, October 17, 2022. A graveside service will be held in her honor at Oak Hill Cemetery on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Justin Milliken and Dr. John Mascia officiating. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. prior to the service. Ms. Hanner was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. She retired from AIDB as Director of Institution Advancement after 39 years of service. She was a member of Hepzibah Baptist Church, and she loved quilting, reading, gardening, and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Laverel Hanner. Ms. Hanner is survived by her brother, Terry (Pat) Hanner; nieces, Jamie (Chris) Tillman, Hillary Tillman, Lorelei Hanner, Landry Hanner, and McKinley Tillman; nephews, Jared (Brenda) Hanner, Jake (Kristina) Hanner, and Colby Tillman. Active pallbearers will be Dr. John Mascia, Jimmy Creed, Colby Tillman, Chris Tillman, Jared Hanner, and Jake Hanner. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind at https://www.aidb.org/page/1484.
