John Vinson Parton Jr., 77 of Talladega passed away October 15, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday October 17, 2022 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega with burial in Stockdale Baptist Church Cemetery. David Gaither will officiate the service. His family will receive friends from 5-7 Sunday at Usrey funeral home.
Vinson was a graduate of Munford High School 1963, retired from Nemark and a former member of the Talladega rescue squad. He was preceded in death by his parents Edith and Tommy Parton, sisters Ruby Parton Hurst and Brenda Parton Easterwood.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Julia Dennis Parton, children Vicki Parton Gentry (Tim), Patrick Vinson Parton (Lisa), Bethany Parton Mellon, step-children Drew Murner (Kathy), Matthew Murner, grandchildren Savannah Mellon (Gabe Turner), Annabeth Mellon, Emily Claire Mellon, Mallory Parton, Connor Gentry (Ivy), Sarah Gentry, Tim Kelly, Samantha Murner, Logan Thomas, great-grandchildren Kennedy Gentry, Noah Thomas.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to your favorite charity. Usrey Funeral Home Talladega is directing the funeral services.
