Obituary of Robert Edward Hobbs

Robert Edward Hobbs, 75, of Ashville, Alabama passed away on August 14, 2022, at the Colonel Robert L. Howard Veterans Home in Pell City, Alabama. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Hare Hobbs, sons, David Hobbs (Lori), Justin Hobbs (Lin), and Michael Hobbs (Cara); stepsons, Jason Gilchrist (Bridgette) and Daniel Gilchrist (Brandy); brother, James Paul Hobbs (Beth); sister, Cathy Hobbs McNeil (Norman); and several nephews and nieces. Beloved Grandchildren are Nathaniel, Aaliya, Jasmine, Ameera and Finlay. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floy Gunn Hobbs and Robert Black Hobbs. Mr. Hobbs is a Navy Veteran, having served in the Submarine Force Pacific Unit during the Vietnam War. He also spent many years working in Nuclear Power as a Senior Reactor Operator, then moved on to see the country through trucking and finally as a security guard at Honda. Robert was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Ashville. Funeral Service: Family will accept visitors from 10-11 am at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Ashville, with services beginning at 11:00 am August 20, 2022 at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Ashville, Alabama. There will be no graveside services at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, The American Cancer Society (prostate cancer) or Pine Forest Cemetery PO Box 160 Ashville, Alabama 35953.
