Obituary of Roland Norris Owings

Funeral service for Roland Norris Owings, 76, of Talladega will be Friday, October 31, 2014 at 2:00 pm. at the Chapel of Usrey Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow with military honors at Oak Hill Cemetery. His family will receive friends Friday from 12-2 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Mr. Owings passed away October 27, 2014 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Sarah Owings, brother Lane Owings. Mr. Owings was a native Clay County and a former resident of Talladega. After his retirement, he lived in the Choccollocoo Community. He was an US Army Veteran, retired from Lockheed Missile and Space, and a member of First Baptist Church of Oxford. His survivors include his son, Darrell Owings (Jamie), grandchildren, Megan Jaison (Jerosh), Kaitlin Owings, Westly Owings, great-grandchildren, Elijah Jaison, Kaidale Denning, several nieces and nephews.
