Obituary of Audrey Eulene Jones

Audrey Eulene Peoples King Jones, most oftenly referred to as Gran, passed away early Monday morning of July 11, 2022. Gran passed hand in hand with her daughters by her side as she left this journey on earth to live eternally in Heaven. Gran was so loved by her family, friends and church family. For most of her life she taught and helped lead lives to Jesus of many young people in Sunday School and Bible Schools. She is an active member of Pinedale Baptist Church where she has served faithfully over the last 40 years also being one of the first members. Gran served in many ways at the church such as piano player, Sunday School teacher, Ladies group leader, and church secretary just to name a few. Her life was dedicated to serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Gran was also very well known around her home town of Ashville, Alabama. She has served on many boards such as the Historical Society and Ashville Cemetery and was a regular patron at the Archive Center where she pursued a passion of the Ancestral history of her family.
Gran loved wood working, painting, sewing, and restoring historic family treasures. Her talents were limitless and many proudly passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Gran is proceeded in death by 2 husbands, David H King (1964) and Bill Jones (2003). She has a mother (Ada Griffin Peoples) and father (Ben Peoples), a son (David W King), 2 granddaughters (Jennifer and Tracy) , 2 sisters (Julia Leopard and infant sister) and brother (FG and Charles Peoples) and many more family and friends happy to have her in their eternal Home of Heaven. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Brashier (Johnnie) and Sharon Jones (Charlie) and sister Dorothy Glenn. Gran is also survived by 7 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren by whom she received the affectionate title of Gran.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 14 at Ashville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that you give to your favorite charity, home church, or organization associated with spreading the Word of God.
The family appreciates every single prayer, thought, message, card, visit, and meal received. The love of our family, friends and church family have truly helped carry us through this time of sadness.
