Obituary of Sharon Morgan

Sharon Morgan of Talladega passed away June 26, 2022, at the age of 77. Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Billy Coleman and Terry Britt officiating. Interment will follow at Hatchet Creek Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm prior to services. Sharon was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega, was a member of Hatchet Creek Baptist Church, and was a former employee of Kimberly Clark. She made the best baked beans. They were loaded with ground beef and so deliciously sweet. She loved Italian cream cakes and wanted one every Christmas. She introduced her brother-in-law to her friend many years ago because she knew they would fit and she was right, they did. She loved her family, her dog, her home, her friends, and her church. She was soft spoken but made of steel during difficult times. She worked hard donating hours of herself to the Ritz Theater and cherished the time spent with her volunteer family. She adored her grandchildren and celebrated their every success. They knew they could always depend on her. She could tell the funniest stories and make you hurt yourself laughing, especially the one about the bee. Billy will never live that one down. She fought hard and finally received the ultimate healing that only God promises. She has reunited with those who went before her, especially her precious son, Steve. She will suffer no more and for that we are eternally grateful. The world is a sadder place. Rest in peace, dear Sharon. You were a bright light in a sometimes, dark world. Your legacy of love and kindness will live forever. Thank you for your gentle soul. We will remember you forever. Sharon is survived by her husband, Billy Morgan, son David Morgan, grandchildren Brooklyn Morgan, Laken Morgan, Daniel Morgan, daughters-in-law Keli Morgan Olinger, Stacey Drummond and sister-in-law Virginia Thornton. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Morgan. Pallbearers will be Harold Godwin, Steve Livingston, George Culver, Vic Olinger, Jerry Colquitt, Austin Hurst, and Edward Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Friends of the Ritz. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be sent to The Ritz Theatre, 115 Court Square N, Talladega AL 35160, www.ritztalladega.com. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing services.
