Obituary of Theresa Fay "Sis" Turner Smith

Theresa Fay “Sis” Turner Smith, 81, of Shelby, AL passed away at her home on Monday, June 13, 2022. Celebration of Life services will be held in her honor at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Eastaboga Baptist Church with burial immediately following at Eastaboga Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Jason Grissom will officiate. Sis was born May 5, 1941 and graduated Lincoln High School (AL) in 1959. Sis was a native of Eastaboga and has lived in Shelby for 20 years. She is also a member of Eastaboga Baptist Church. Sis adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them as being with her grandchildren was the most fulfilling and rewarding part of her life. She was also a huge University of Alabama fan and enjoyed all Bama sports from football to gymnastics to softball. Furthermore, Sis also loved to travel extensively and read voraciously. She is preceded in death by her husband, Judson Smith; parents, Nix Turner and Clyde Turner; her brother, Clyde Cooper Turner; and her sister, Marie Turner. Survivors include her children; Tracy Smith, Alison Smith Acton and her husband, Don; Kristen Smith Stinson and her husband, Nils; and grandchildren Bradley Stinson, Ashley Stinson, Samuel Acton, and Natalie Acton; sisters, Myrtle McCluer; Jane (Billy) Chappell, and Hope Skidmore (Jim) Johnson; and sister-in-law, Dee Turner.
