Obituary of William Earl Stephens

William Earl Stephens of Munford, AL passed away May 12, 2022, at the age of 70. Funeral services will be held in his honor at 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Munford Church of Christ with Shane Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 pm, Sunday, at the church. Earl was a native and lifelong resident of Munford, AL. He was a member of Munford Church of Christ. He retired from AIDB after 32 years as a vocational instructor at E.H. Gentry. He coached and was very involved with numerous youth sports and activities in his community. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. Mr. Stephens is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patsy Stephens, sons Jeff Stephens (Tonya), Brian “Homer” Stephens (Amy), brothers, Leon Stephens (Judy), Jimmy Mack Stephens (Darenda), Charles “Corky” Stephens, sister Nell Herd, sister-in-law Annie Stephens, grandchildren Jordan, Kendall, Brody, Raegan, and great granddaughter Kortlyn. He is preceded in death by his parents Buddy and Inez Stephens, brother Don Stephens, brother-in-law Randy Herd, and father-in-law Jackson Fuller. Pallbearers will be Heath Ray, Noel Stephens, Chris Stephens, Ben Gallahair, Todd Stephens, Steve Smith, Darrell Smith, and Shane Fuller. Honorary pallbearers are Wilfred “Snuffy” Smith, Tommy Lackey, Cliff Sanders, Billy Wilson, Jeff Hughes, Paul Champion, and The Cheaha Mountain Dog Hunters.
