Obituary of Martha Louise Armbrester Horn

Martha Louise Armbrester Horn was born December 29, 1936, to Joseph Simmons Armbrester and Nora Belle Lackey Armbrester. She passed away Saturday April 16, 2022. She was 85 years old. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Michael Gatch officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Auburn Memorial Park in Auburn, AL. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to services at Usrey Funeral Home. Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Horn; her son, Glenn Charles Horn; her parents, her sisters, Kathleen Armbrester Bryant, and Eleanor Armbrester Harris; her brothers, David Michael Armbrester, Joseph S Armbrester, Jr., William Brandon Armbrester and Charles Richard Armbrester, MD.; nephews, Kelly Bryant III, Joseph Bryant, and Michael Bryant. Mrs. Horn was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church (Renfroe), where she was a member of the adult Sunday School Class and choir. Martha was a graduate of Winterboro High School class of 1954. She attended Auburn University (API) to pursue a degree in Advertising Design. Martha was employed as a graphic artist by The Ledger-Enquirer News, Columbus, GA, The Opelika-Auburn Daily News and Craftmaster Printers, Auburn, AL, and The Daily Home, Talladega, AL. Mrs. Horn loved nature and the outdoors, walking with her pet lab, “Old Yeller” and camping with family and friends in Europe and the United States. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Elizabeth Horn Vasiloff (Steven); sons, Robert Earl Horn Jr., John Russell Horn and James Brian Horn (Robin); grandchildren, Joseph Allen Vasiloff, Gina Nicole Vasiloff, Emily Katherine Horn, Sylvia Teresa A Horn, Robert Earl Horn lll (Michele), Cody Glenn Horn and Heath Alexander Horn; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Issacs, Bailey Hill, Braeden Hill and Lillian Johnson; niece Mary Ellen Harris Belcher; nephews, William Armbrester, Jr, Roger Harris, Joel Harris, Paul Armbrester and Joseph Bryant, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 181 Shiloh Ln, Talladega, AL 35160. The funeral will be directed by Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega.
