Obituary of Jacqueline Davidson Graves

Jacqueline “Jackie” Davidson Graves passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the age of 98 years old. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church of Talladega with LeeAnn Scarbrough officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Graves was a native of Corbin, Kentucky. She graduated from Coffee High School in Florence, Alabama. She was a proud graduate of the University of Alabama. She has lived in Talladega since 1948. She was a former employee of the U.S. Pentagon and later worked at the Talladega County Department of Human Resources. Mrs. Graves was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Talladega where she was involved with the Women of the Church. She was also involved with the Holly Garden Club, Heritage Hall Museum, the Highland City Club, and the Auxiliary to the National Medical Association. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah G. (Raymond) Pitts and Judith G. (Patrick) O’Neill, grandchildren, Ellen Willis (Michael) McDonald, Kathleen Brewer Willis, Geoffrey Graves Willis, and Patrick V. (Megan) O’Neill, and great-grandchildren, Grace, Chloe, Amelia, and Patrick J. O’Neill and Brewer McDonald. Mrs. Graves is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lauris D. Graves. The Men’s Caravan Class of the First Presbyterian church will act as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Robbins, John Garrett, Joseph Hare, Joe Power, and Charles Montgomery.
