Obituary of Buel Fay Parnell

Mr. Buel Fay Parnell, 92, of Ragland, Alabama passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 in Ragland. Mr. Parnell attended Hardin’s Chapel Bible Church. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot. After retirement from the Depot, he worked part-time for many years at Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City. He was a Mason and member of The James D. Truss Lodge #515 for 63 years and 3 months where he had held the positions of Past Master, Worshipful Master for 3 years, and Secretary for over 30 years. He was also an avid fan of Auburn University football and an outdoorsman. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by three granddaughters, Autumn Parnell, Leah Daffron, and Carla Daffron. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Parnell; daughter, Denice Daffron (Rodney); son, Wayne Parnell (Thelma); sister-in-law, Christine Parnell; grandchildren, Casey Daffron (Christy) and Zach Parnell (Brittney); seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many loving nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City with Rev. Lowell Douglas officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Hardin’s Chapel Bible Church Cemetery in Ragland, Alabama. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City, 21271 US Highway 231 Pell City, Alabama 35125.
