Obituary of Lawrence Jackson Adams

Lawrence Jackson “Jack” Adams of Munford passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the age of 78. A funeral service will be held in his honor at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Usrey Brown Service Funeral Home in Talladega with Frank Swiney and Abi Carlisle-Wilke officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery will follow directly after the service. Mr. Adams was a native and lifelong resident of Munford. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church where he was an active member of the choir. He worked at U.S. Pipe and Steele in Oxford for 11 years before retiring from Anniston Army Depot after 29 years of employment. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When Mr. Adams wasn’t spending time with them, he enjoyed singing in The Baggy Bottom Boys Quartet and was also an avid cattle farmer. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Jane Adams; children, Mary Jane Pritchett (Nathan), Donna Smith (Kenneth), and Tony Adams (Ruby); grandchildren, Kenny Pritchett, Diana Pritchett Ponder (Tyler), Anthony Adams (Heather), Maverick Pritchett (April), Tabathia Hicks (Caleb), and Logan Adams; great-grandchildren, Kaden Pritchett, Warren Pritchett, Levi Pritchett, Makinlee Pritchett, Willow Ponder, Evaline Ponder, Austin Blake Adams, and Kaylee Adams, and brother, Tommy Adams (Patti). Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his infant son, Baby Adams; parents, Lawrence and Sammie Ruth Adams; daughter-in-law, Kelly Adams, and grandson, Austin Bailey Adams. Active pallbearers will be Mr. Adams’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to Encompass Hospice, Patricia Davis, and Elizabeth Taylor.
