Obituary of Roy Calvin Burgess

Roy Calvin Burgess of Talladega passed away March 7, 2022, at the age of 86. His funeral service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Otis Graves officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am before the service. Mr. Burgess is survived by his wife Dean Burgess, sister-in-law’s Sue Burgess, Suzanne Burgess and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents T.C. and Rena Dothard Burgess, brothers Clarence “Bud” Burgess, Twin brother Ray Burgess, William Thomas “Tommy” Burgess, and sister Betty Burgess Kilgore. The family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers Susan Langley and Darlene Epperson. Roy was a 4-year veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from the United States Air National Guard where he served as Fire Chief of the Air National Guard from November 31, 1964 to November 20, 1990.
