Obituary of Alice Faye Wingo

Alice “Faye” Wingo, 79 of Munford passed away February 11, 2022, at her home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm, Monday, February 14,2022 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega with burial in Munford Memorial Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Sunday at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Hale will officiate the services. Faye was born in Calhoun County to W.C. and Vada O’Brien Carden on December 1, 1942. She worked in the Cotton Mills for many years. She enjoyed cooking for everyone, gardening, and working in her flower beds. She was known for her feisty spirit and being the glue that held the family together. Faye is survived by her husband of 47 years Jack Harold Wingo, sons Sammy Haynes (Berrina), Terry Haynes (Jan), daughters Debra Deese, Andrea Ratliff (Eric), grandchildren Matthew Haynes, Justin Haynes, Krysti Haynes (Stacy), Cody Deese (Sandy), Tyler Deese, Candace Middlebrooks (Kenny), Latasha George (Rickey), Megan Pruitt (Zach), Anna Ray, Haedyn Ratliff, brothers Louie “Red” Carden, Buster Carden, sister Mamie Owens, several great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents W.C. and Vada O’Brien Carden, son Steven David, siblings Aubie Carden, Lewis Carden, Cora Mae Calhoun, Inez Carden, and great-granddaughter Jordan Alyssa Parton. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Deese, Tyler Deese, Justin Haynes, Caleb Vaughn, Rickey George, Haedyn Ratliff, and Zach Pruitt. Faye was a Loving wife, mother, and Nana, she will be missed tremendously by all who loved her. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct the service.
