Dula Lavelle “Belle” Hutto, 92, of Talladega, Alabama passed away peacefully on January 19, 2022. Belle is the daughter of the late John Calvin and Nancy Lee Barnes. She was born on October 31, 1929 and was the fifth of six children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colvin Eugene Hutto, her brothers, Col. Alton R. Barnes, Sr., John Harold Barnes (Helen), Daniel H. Barnes, Donald G. Barnes (Ellen), and her sister, Realta Barnes Kearley (Ausban). She graduated from Winterboro High School in 1947. Belle was a lifetime member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She worked for the Talladega County Emergency Management Agency at the Talladega Courthouse for more than 40 years. Belle was a lover of plants and animals. In her retirement years, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her most cherished name known to those who loved her was “Grandma Belle.” Her beautiful life will forever be remembered in the lives of her children: Marsha Jones (Larry) of Lincoln, AL and Terry Hutto (Susan) of Titus, AL. Survivors also include her five grandchildren: Jonathan Jones (Holly) of Birmingham, AL, Laura Preston (Ben) of Hoover, AL, Holly Jones of Destin, FL, Anna Hutto of Atlanta, GA and Tyler Hutto of Helena, AL; and her great-grandchildren, Evan Jones, Andrew Jones, Claire Preston, Anna Jones, and Mary Preston. Belle also leaves behind her dearest friend, Patsy Isbell, along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery on January 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Steve Burke officiating. Pallbearers will be Stan Mitchell, Keith Haney, Joey Hutto, Vic McCrary, David Bockmon, and Jason Wallace. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct the services.
